What:  Interactive Streaming Option for BYOD
Cost:  Free Download to try and then $19.99/License
Why:  Great for Monitoring and/or projecting teacher screen to students

Okay- I have to admit I haven't personally tried this out but I viewed this video and thought about the benefits of this application.  This would be great in any classroom with byod or 1-1 devices.  It helps the teacher manage/monitor what the students are doing and it is interactive so that the teacher can teach and students can save notes right from the screen.  I would love to give this a try....maybe this summer with my own kids :-)  I will keep you posted!

When I say quick , I mean literally it might take you 10 minutes to create a quiz, assign it and have the results as soon as the students have it completed.  Granted, all questions are multiple choice but what a great way to give a quick assessment.  This site seamlessly interfaces with Google Classroom.  Assign as a quiz or homework or print it off if the students don't have a device.  See the video above for a quick tutorial to get you going!

What:  Language Translation Website
Website/URL: Lingro - http://lingro.com/
Cost:  Free
Why:  For those that are learning English and need to associate native words to english

This is an easy site to use for language translation.  It offers many languages but still lacks a few (such as Arabic).  This is a great resource for those who want to associate native words to new words they are learning. Again, very user friendly!  I am hoping for a Google Extension soon!!!

What: Quiz Hub Interactive Quiz Website
Cost:  Free- Limited - School Site available
Why:  Great for Summer

This is a great site.  It is limited for the free portion with only a select amount of quizzes available.  I still think it is a great resource for summer learning.  You could have your own children use this site during the summer months to keep up on academics!

What: Calendars 5 App -Best Calendar App ever!!!
Cost:  $6.99 (Well worth the $)

Hands down this is the best calendar app out there.  I downloaded it while it was free.  Now the cost is $6.99 - and I would pay for it knowing how awesome it is with the overall view.  Sync all of your calendars into one app/one view.  Highly recommended!  Stay tuned for a how to video on Calendars 5.

What:  Parent-Teen Safe Driving Contract
PDF/Website/Source:  Michigan.gov- Direct Link
Cost:  Free
Why:  Outstanding rules to discuss with your teen driver

This is a great idea for those with new drivers in the home put out by the State of Michigan.  This contract lets your children realize  your expectations. It also spells out the parent exceptions as well.  This is a great contract to go through with your teen children.

What:  QR Code Generator
Cost:  Free (paid version offers scan tracking and other benefits)
Why:  For Resumes, Cover letters, & Business Cards

This QR Creator is the easiest and the best out there that I have found.  I tried several sites and found this to be the best.  When you create a Digital Business Card, once the code is scanned is brings up the contact information you want to share including your photo, information and any websites/links you want.  It will also give the scanner the option to save to contacts in their phone.  This is super easy to do.  Just put your information in and create the code.  Download and save- print on labels to add to the back of a business card.  Many options and very handy.  If you wanted to keep track of the number of times it is scanned you can pay for monthly access to reports.

Google News- Archived Newspapers!

I love this site.  It is a great way to search old newspapers online for historical information.   There are hundreds of resources and the search gives the user real scanned copies of original prints of newspapers when the story was printed.  I was even able to look up my high school career athletic highlights from my local paper!  Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

This is for those gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc . accounts that get out of hand with subscriptions. I was very skeptical at first, but after about a week I realized I am able to see the emails that are important and I don't have to weed out all the "stuff" that I don't care about.  Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.  It gives you the option to unsubscribe to the numerous emails that come to your account or you can create an unroll where it will take the subscriptions you choose and roll them all into one email for you to view!   Super cool!
